Thought I'd post this as there are some extreme skiing addicts on the forum. Some may have known Jean-Noel, one of the pioneers of extreme skiing in the Himalayas. He died a few days ago skiing down from Camp 2 on Gasherbrum I as a snow bridge collapsed over a crevasse.
I had seen him in a few conferences and always enjoyed hearing his passionate voice and his simple apprach to mountaineering. His site and projects are here:
