Snow Conditions in the Wallowas was created by cityhick
I will be leading backpacks up in the Eagle Cap in a few weeks and have so far received no better beta than "there's a lot of snow up there". Anyone been up there that might have some insight into how clumsy teenager friendly the snowpack might be? undercutting from runnin water? rotten snow? anything else?
Any beta would be much appreciated...

Haven't been up there, but check out this NASA Satelite link and you can see the Caps are still pretty white......

Cityhick. my advise would be to check with the guides at Wallowa Alpine Huts. Ask to speak to CB, Connelly Brown the head guide. They lead hosted backcountry ski trips at their yurts in MCcully Basin. CB's a good guy and will have the data you need.

here's some snotel data from Aneroid Lakes.

Eagle Cap area probably has a ton of snow still. I think the Wallowas got hit pretty good from those last two storms.
