Anyone out there been on the big E-facing snow slope called the Great Basin? Has anyone skied on it or climbed the N peak via Route 1 or 2 in the latest Olympic climbing guide?

Not the east side, but I've been up the south side half a dozen times and done the traverse a few times. My take would be that it's probably 3-4 hours to where the trail splits off to the south side and I would think travel would get a good bit rougher beyond the trail's heading to the south. The cliff bands and avalanche gullies have considerable brush on the south side - yellow cedar, which is really tough near the cliffs and substantial alder to 15-20' near the bases of slide paths. Be sure to check out the elevations and make a realistic guess how much snow would be found low on the mountain.
