Many thanks for the suggestions. Based on my own research the Orlters definitely look like the place to go this time of year. I think I will try for Val Senales this weekend because it looks relatively easy to get to (train to Merano, then I can get a bus that goes right there) and promises skiing all year long. There is a ski resort there, but they seem to be between seasons at the moment or something. Their website says they reopen June 14. I'm a bit confused as to why. Anyway, as long as I can find snow I should be happy.
