The National Parking Service's longtime pattern of waste & mismanagement continues. Bulldozers began clearing the Paradise Valley road today, despite the announced opening to the public (May 24) being almost six weeks away. Never had much patience for that psychic stuff, but may have to change my opinion after predicting this event to the exact day! (See the 'Road...' board, S. Cascades for 3-5-08). Those wishing to access the often better snow and poor visibility skiing to the east of Paradise should make sure they have a shovel to surmount the 15-20' road cuts. Guess I'll have to take a few pairs of skis out of the rice rocket to make room for the bike...
