Low angle terrain? was created by Alpengo
I am taking my wife out backcountry skiing for the second time (first was to Bagley Lakes @ Baker) and I am looking for some lower-angled terrain for some yo yo runs, transition practice, etc.  Nothing too flat, but in the < 25d area for a mellow, "choose your own adventure" day in the BC. Maybe something in the Snoqualmie Area?

Of course weather and snowpack will dictate the final destination, but I was hoping I could get some ideas from some T-A-Y'ers?

Thanks in advance!

Hyak is a pretty good weekday "learn how" place. Kendall Knob is good too, just north of Snoqualmie West, faces South, so might me mushy or crusty..

At Stevens, Heather Ridge is good, but south facing. Yodelin can be very nice.

I'd go to Paradise on a sunny and stable day.  Lots of options right out of the parking lot that are open, easy, and short like Golden Gate down to the road, Mazama ridge, etc.  At Snoqualmie, Kendall stump is OK for yo-yoing, but not that aesthetic or pleasant in my opinion.

Yodelin just past Stevens Pass is another good place with moderate terrain you can get a sense of a tour at the same time.

In about a month all of the local ski areas are likely to be closed.
With the snow pack in the Cascades there should be a month or two of great noobie touring availiable to choose from. I love touring the ski areas when the lifts are closed.
