About to head up Cerise Creek to the Keith Lavell (sp?) Hut by Joffree and was wondering if any of you folks that have been spending a fair amount of time up that way had any thoughts about how the PWLs are performing in that area. Major thanks for any local beta you can throw my way.

Cheers

Check here and see if you can find a hut that's near your destination. Some good info:

www.wisegoat.ca

Reports I've read/heard are that the October and December layers aren't a major concern at this point and that the January layer isn't very active anymore. The Feb 24 hoarfrost layer is still active in places, but the area around Golden apparently had a strong katabatic wind that destroyed much of the hoar, making the 2/24 less of a factor than it might be in spots. Associated wind-loading of course, etc etc.

Most of that is 2nd or 3rd hand from either wisegoat or some folks I've been in touch with in Golden (I'm heading up that way Friday), so take it with an internet-sized grain of salt. Good luck!

Its been fine. Check latest CAA advisory for cornice drop triggered slab on NW facing slope in Vantage Pk right close to Cerise. I was on N faces two weeks ago in area E of Circus crk and all was well too.
