For those who may be interested, I finally finished a draft about lessons I learned the hard way on this topic. Of course I'll probably end up revising it my usual 20 times.  :)

Great read Larry -- I've passed it on to two friends with Raynaud's.  I'm impressed that you winter camp as much as you do, with that condition.  Sounds like it could be truly unpleasant/dangerous, without good systems like yours.

Made me laugh out loud. :)

Oh my, I'm in big trouble now Marcus.  :)

Clem suggested that I add something about what to do on the drive up and about getting out of the car, something that I had intended but, uh, forgot. I'll do it tomorrow.

Got'ta answer the phone; it's Charles I'm sure.   :)

Yeah, about the best way to ride up in the car with someone who has Reynauds. Number one, be able to get down to your base layer.  The temperature may be 75 degrees minimum in the car to keep your partner with warm hands.  Do not put your ski boots on too early, as you will find all socks and layers drenched with sweat.  Number two, on arrival at the trailhead, if you are too warm, shovelling snow is a joy.
