Crystal Slide???

I think there was a skier triggered slide on the King yesterday. About 2 ish they closed down chair 6 and from the lodge you could see a big crown in the Pinball vicinity of the King. I asked a patroller and he said a skier had triggered it but had survived. When they reopened the chair I went out there and skied down Avy basin and the debris had run to the bottom.
It must have been a wild ride if he or she went all the way and I hope they are OK.

Don't know much else about it. Anybody else got any better info?

yesterday around 3 I was bombing down one of the aplliance chutes in some untracked when all of a sudden Im at what looks to be a wind lip turns out to be that fracture It was at least a 5 foot slab fracture down to solid ice. I slid for more then 100 feet heading straight for the Avi debris. I finally stopped less then 10 feet above the pile up but the debris feild almost went to The roller down to the lake

From what the patroller told me, the fracture line near the Appliance chute was set off by patrol in the morning by bombing but the one on the King near Pinball was skier triggered.
In the afternoon light from Campbell Lodge, the fracture lines where very startling!
NWAC is reporting a slide in the NW aspect of Silver Basin but it could be that they mean Avalanche Basin as this would correlate to the slide I saw.

Yesterday, the 7th, they were doing alot of bombing in A & Silver basin via helicopter with what sounded like stronger than normal explosives. Very cool to watch. Didn't have my glasses on so couldn't tell what kind of results were had but some of the resulting reverberations sounded pretty sobering. I'm sure the Crystal patrol would fill you in if your up there.
