Skiing near Coldwater Lake, St Helens was created by Jerm
Anyone here ever done this? The road is supposed to be plowed as far as Coldwater Lake (although it is currently closed well short of that, I *think* temporarily). I have a friend visiting Portland that wants to ski next Friday and was thinking of meeting him halfway and skiing in the blast zone. The terrain above Coldwater looks decent with low snow levels, which we've got. Coldwater Peak looks like a reasonable tour.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Google gives me a recent article about lack of parking up there, and alludes to no sliding being allowed in the restricted area of the monument (which includes the Coldwater area). But it looks like there is terrain high enough to hold snow even before Coldwater Ridge, on Weyerhauser land. But surely the TAY oracle can shed some better light on this.
