Rendezvous Huts - Mazama Telemark Possibilities?

We're going on a 3 day cross country ski trip into the Rendezvous Huts area near Mazama. There's a "free" gear haul as part of the package, so I'm considering loading in my tele gear and boots. Has anyone skied there? Any hills worth climbing up? I did a search and it came up empty. Thanks!

Which hut are you in? I would definitely take them. There was a good hill for turns right outside the Cassal Hut. With enough snow you could surely skin up higher .. there are plenty of open areas. We took them back in the winter that wasnt and still managed some turns. This season shoudl be better.

We also skied out to the highway rather than back across the x/c network. You can ski more or less downhill from Cassal (probably Fawn and Rendezvous too) to a development on Rt 20 via logging roads along Cassal and Fawn Creeks. Check out the topo map.

Fawn Peak (6500 ft) is accessible from all of the huts (by different routes) and is worth doing.

Bring'em. I just skied near the rendevous road today. There are lots of places to ski in that area. I've had a real hard time finding any info on BC skiing in the methow area, and I fnally I ran into (chased down) a local who was more than happy to show me where to go.

Thanks for the tips! We're staying in Grizzly - a new one, about a 9 mile ski in. I'll throw in my tele gear.
