Alpental Beacon Basin

Does anyone have any information on the BCA Beacon Basin at Alpental? Where is it? What do you need to bring / do to use it? Is it open to the general public? Season pass holders? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll want to checkin with the Alpental Ski Patrol before using their basin -- so just check in with the patrol when you get to Alpental.

I'm not sure i it's upand running yet. Last year you had to go to the gift shop to check out a control box to operate the transmitters. Yes it's open to the public to practice transciever searches.
