Seattle Boot Fitter? was created by cascade.skier
I'm looking for a competent boot fitter in Seattle (or Bellingham?).
I have a pair of Garmont SynerGs that need a bit of work:
-Properly toaster-oven and fit a new set of liners
-Stretch the shells in the inside ankle area, and maybe add some padding to the inside tibia area of the liners
-potentially address some mild pronation
Suggestions?

hey David!
Becky and I have had really good boot-fit work done by Martin over at Sturtevants in Bellevue. Best to call and make an appointment, otherwise you could be waiting there for a while.

Not Seattle, but my brother bought a pair of AT boots last weekend at Marmot Mountain Works in Bellevue. I was really impressed with the service that the one and sometimes two tech's gave him. The fitting took a couple hours and at no time did they rush the job. The store was pretty busy at the the time too.
Another option would be Sturtevant's in Bellevue and Pro Ski Service in Seattle. All have a good reputation.

Martin's the man, and even if you do have an appointment budget a couple of hours. He's been working on my Atomic RT plugs a little at a time and doing an amazing and careful job. Also did the mods on my Megarides which were a smashing success.

Adam at Proski in Seattle has done a great job with my trashed old Lasers and both pairs of my wife's boots. IMO, he does a good job of balancing what the customer says/wants with his experience fitting ski boots---basically, he'll tell you when you are wrong and why. In my experience, he's been dead right.

Jim Mates' Custom Boot Service - All he does is stare at feet all day. He is the man, if you have to pay someone. His shop occupies the lower floor of his home on the corner of 65th and 4th NW, blending seamlessly into the residential neighborhood and recognizable only by the small "Custom Boot" and "Open" signs in the window. 206.297.9298
