Avalanche Field Notebooks

I've seen field notebooks that contain snow pit observation and compass rose templates in the past, and would like to find one.   A quick Google search revealed numerous links to this, which appears to be the standard:

I currently use a standard rite-in-the-rain notebook, but thought having the templates would be nice.  Has anyone found a viable, less expensive alternative?  $25 seems a bit steep, so if there isn't an alternative, I'll just spend the time to draw some templates into my existing notebook.
