Does anybody know folks who have skied with Beglinger - especially those who have skied with him a few times?

Gary,  I remember Rick Munson mentioning that he went on a couple of trips with Beglinger.

I have gary. Did a trip report about it you can find either on TGR or teletips by searching for Selkirk Mountain Experience

I've toured with SME three times in the Selkirks and last spring on Switzerland's Monte Rosa Massif.   The terrain at the Durrand is absolutely spectacular!  Ruedi can be fairly demanding on many different levels but I get along with him fairly well. It is a good place to bring your 'A' game.   Practice your de-skin transition so you won't be left behind!

I have toured at the Durrand Glacier 4 times - 93, 94, 96 and 2003 just after the well publicized tragedy there. The last trip was emotionally difficult as I lost a friend there.

Dave's description is spot on. Many people are put off by Ruedi but I get along well with him. At the Durrand, there are generally two groups so you may ski with another guide. Stronger skiers and repeat guests typically ski with Ruedi. If you bring a strong group you will ski some incredible terrain and not be left wanting.

Gary, your request for info got me out of my lurker's closet. My five trips with Ruedi - 3 to Durrand Glacier Chalet, a Haute Route, and a Monashee trip - have been five highlights of my ski life. The quality and variety of terrain is incredible, and Ruedi offers a world-class guiding experience. A week at Durrand Glacier is the touchstone against which I compare any ski outing. Not deliberately, mind you, it just happens.

As well, the chalet is very comfortable, a new professional chef is now in residence, and the fully guided/fully catered prices are very reasonable. Then there's the Mt. Moloch hut....

I'm no Chris(tine) Davenport, and I've always had a good time. To borrow Lowell Skoog's phrase, "your tastes may vary".
