B'ham to Stevens Drive

Hey Guys,

I have only driven to Stevens Pass from the Seattle area, not Bellingham. Google says it would take 1:26 to get there from B'ham. Google maps also says the drive to Baker takes 1:25. In my experience it only takes that long to get there in pretty bad conditions.

Can someone please tell me how long it takes them to get to Stevens on a "typical" day from Bellingham? thanks.

Google is definitely off on those times. The mid-point (timewise) between Baker and Stevens is closer to Mount Vernon (maybe Conway). I usually figure about 1:45 from there, so add another 25min to cover the distance to B'ham. You might be able to do it in 2 hrs flat with good conditions without attracting too much attention from the law, but 1:25 would require some serious driving.

I've had some serious issues with Google's drive times. Even the directions sometimes are a bit crazy.

From Bellingham (city limits on Sunset = 542) it takes me an hour to drive to Baker. It would take me the rest of my expected life to even consider driving to Stevens.

I live about an hour north of Bellingham(, depending on the quantity and humour of the border guards). Unless the weather is creating problems, I expect to reach Stevens Pass three hours after leaving home. The half way point between Bellingham and Stevens is Monroe.

thanks for the info. I was thinking about getting a night ski pass because i could get so many more days in (instead of another season of weekend warrior). looks like the drive might be a little more than its worth though.
