event: NWAC raffle and Gear Night at FF

Fall is here and snow is falling in the mountains. It is time to start thinking about backcountry turns, and what better way to kick off the season than at Feathered Friends' annual Gear Night, raffle, and fundraiser?

You consult it all the time. It's a great resource to help make sure every trip is a round trip. The NWAC is an important part of the backcountry community in the northwest, and now it's time to give something back. November 7, at 7pm at the Feathered Friends retail store, is the annual Gear Night and fundraising raffle for the NWAC.

In addition to hosting a multitude of reps from our winter gear manufacturers to answer questions and show off new toys, FF will be holding competitions of skill and strength, and three raffles to raise money for NWAC.

Raffle #1: clothing and accessories. Companies including Arc'teryx, Cloudveil, Mammut, Ibex, OR, and more have kindly donated such excellent items as Gore Tex ski parkas, softshell jackets, and gloves. Tickets for this raffle are $5 each or 3 for $10. You must be present to win these prizes.

Raffle #2: skis and equipment. Atomic, K2, Black Diamond, G3, Mammut, and Scarpa have generously donated 3 pairs of skis, a couple pairs of boots, bindings, and an avalanche beacon. These are some hot prizes! Tickets for this raffle are $10 each or 3 for $20, and you do not need to be present to win, although you will want to be!

Raffle #3: our neighbors down the street, Snowboard Connection, have graciously donated a few snowboards and accessories for a snowboard gear raffle. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets for this are $10 each or 3 for $20.

Tickets for all three raffles are available in advance of the event or at Gear Night. You may purchase them by phone by calling 206-292-2210.

Feathered Friends is donating 10% of all sales on November 7 to the NWAC. If you are thinking of making a purchase, make it that day and increase your contribution to the NWAC!

I was in FF today and they have a ton of gear for their raffle. Three pairs of skis - BD Killowatt 175, Atomic RT Janak, and K2 Mt. Baker superlight, Two pairs of tele boots from Scarpa one womens and one mens, A Hilliberg Tent, G3 bindings, Avalung pack it really is a LOT of stuff. You should stop by and buy your tickets in advance or call cause you don't even have to be present to win!

I've been in years past and it has always been a good time.
