I can't see the sample menu for some reason, but can't wait to see the 17$ burgers!

What a drag.

Hmmm...$17 burgers.  Can't wait to see what kind of crowd that will attract.  I'm envisioning people parading around in fancy suits, maybe some fur cause we all need a bit more fur at Crystal.  Did I say fur?  FUR, I must still be fuzzy from todays slaying.

I'd much rather see a better stocked bar at the summit.  People getting drunk at the top and trying to ski or board down is much more novel concept.  But I guess that happens at the base anyways and spectators can watch them taking out everyone getting off the lift.

How about a bar maid serving drinks while everyone is standing in lines??

I guess they decided that since that place is usually packed to the gills -- they could earn more profits by upgrading the menu to extract more dollars from fewer posers.

I'm more of a "eat a sandwich on the chair guy"  -- but I have enjoyed eating pizza with my sons in that lodge.

If they are trying to compete with Whistler -- they need a gondola and a 500 seat resturant with a bar on the summit.   I suppose someday that will happen

I've always enjoyed lunch there, especially with the kids, and with Campbell basin now serving $12 teriyaki bowls it was a pretty good alternative. You could walk in covered with snow, throw your stuff down, grab something hot to eat and a beer, and not worry too much about formalities. I wonder now if you'll be required to stand in line (outside the door with the wind howling?), wait for seating, wait for a server, wait for your food, wait for a LARGE check, yadayada. Sounds like a very complicated solution to a problem that didn't really exist.

Again, it seems another move to reposition themselves away from the core values of a NW family ski area, and though I understand the profit motive, it makes me sad.

They will never be able to surpass the culinary delight I expereanced a few years ago. When just by chance it was free red bulls and granola bar day. Every trip to the base garenteed a exquisite snack for the next lap. That was one of the few days that I skied till last chair. Parka food rocks, What the heck are these guys thinking?

They used to do that in the summer. Years ago a buddy and I rode Mtn bikes up the back way. We got to the top thinking we could get a beer. They looked at us like we were from another planet. Didn't get the beer till we rode down. >
