From a good perspective from the east of the Frying Pan Glacier it appears as though the Meany Crest part of the glacier is perhaps about 100 feet thick and already shows segmenting at several moraines above the crest. I would think that this portion (east) of the glacier will be largely gone within 5-10 years unless some dramatic (and likely temporary) reversal of climate happens in the next few years.
Rainier is amazingly dry and getting more barren each year. Baker appears to be doing a little better so far.
