Thanks, moderator Mark!

Mark (markharf) has been one of the moderators for this forum for a long time...ever since it started, I think. He's retiring from this position at the end of this month to move on to more enjoyable things, and I'd like to thank him for everything he has done to help keep this forum the great place it is for exchanging information about the backcountry. When issues arose that needed a moderating influence, Mark was there with his usual good ways of diffusing potential problems. I know from personal experience that such moderating can take quite a bit of time and mental energy to do it well, and Mark always did it well.

Thank you very much, Mark, and I hope that your upcoming adventures are enjoyable!

Thanks Mark, and "happy trails to you" .

In addition to his moderator duties, Mark also wrote some of the best trip reports on this site. I already miss those entertaining and insightfully written adventures. I would also like to thank Mark for setting me on my personal path of turns all year. It was just obvious thing to do after meeting him several years ago.

Mark, I hope that your stepping back from the moderator position will not mean that you will not continue to post here and elsewhere.  You would be missed.

In my humble opinion, the "frivolouslessness" of this site has very much resulted from the tone  Mark, Lowell and those other of our betters that contribute here have stamped  on this site by their example.

(Mark, for example, would never have constructed a sentence like the last, even minus the new word!)
