How are the Nisqually chutes holding up? was created by OldHouseMan
I have a family reunion to attend to in Morton this weekend and was thinking of getting away for a quick ski. Are the Nisqually chutes holding up or are they past their prime?

A look up there from the Nisqually bridge on 7/15 revealed a manageable entry but with enough rocks to navigate that a fall would have a high probability of some contusions.
On 7/22 it was enshrouded in clouds when I had the chance to look that way, but my guess is the entry was probably discontinuous snow.
If I were heading there tomorrow my best guess is that I would likely have to do a short rock/scree down climb of no more than 100 yards to get to skiable snow.
Of course, now, the Pinnacle Gl... now there's a ski!
And if you chose to go there... You May Have Company!!!

I think it looks exceedingly awful, but why not discover that for yourself?
