Vesper Peak beta?? was created by Robyn
Thinking of climbing Vesper this weekend, does anybody know what it looks like for snow right now? Is it worth carrying skis? Will crampons be a good idea? Any route info would also be appreciated.

That area usually holds snow well into July. For sure you'd have a continuous run from the summit down to the 5000ft lakes there. I don't know about around headlee pass though.
If it's any indication, the west face still looked very white from the 520 bridge this evening.

Here's a photo of the upper valley below Headlee from Sunday:
We were just on a leisure hike so I don't know how the gulley up to the pass & beyond are. We stopped at the exposed rock band left of the
band of trees in the center of the photo. The snow was soft but slightly suncupped. I'm not sure it would be a good ride back down. On the plus side, there were only four cars at the trailhead as opposed to Dickerman and Lake 22 which were overflowing with cars..
