Spray Park camping tips was created by Jeff Huber
We're going to be camping for two nights at the base of the Flett glacier. Does anyone have any recommended camping spots/tips?

Thanks

Jeff - This spot affords a nice line down to camp for a moonlight ski.

We've camped at this spot several times.
Running water nearby, well hidden, yet reasonably close to the main trail. More pics of that trip HERE .

That looks like a very pretty spot. Any tricks to finding it, or is it obvious? Thanks Ron.

when you get up into Spray Park follow the main trail until you come to an obvious "climber" trail that cuts off to the right. Kind of follow it and continuous snow up to the main gulley below the Flett Headwall. If you're not on pretty much continuous snow then you missed the "climber" trail and you're going too high and heading to far north.

There're some limits as to number of parties allowed in the South Spray Park backcountry zone - 2 I think. There are also the Seattle Park and Ptarmagin Ridge bc zones which I think allow 2 parties each, and are adjacent to the zone in Ron's picture.

Nice campsite Ron and nice tent-
Jeff, many of those like that on that snowfield as md2020 mentioned the BC permits. Looks worth the seemingly endless hike through the rolling woods to get there, it's the hike out (the final uphill) that seems like eternity. ;)
Have fun- I may have to go do that this year since I forgot how painful the hike out is.
I like doing the more direct Knapsack Pass start route making it a loop, once you clear the pass look to the right and use Observation Rock or map/compass/gps bearing to Observation (shown in Ron's Picture above the tent, lookers left of the upper snowfield in front of Rainier), if visibility is good as your bearing.
Have Fun,
Joe
