Rainier NP is very, very good to me! was created by Larry_Trotter
Got up there today... My annual pass was due to expire at the end of June.  However, the nice lady at the entrance booth extended my pass to December, 2007 because of the closure.  What a deal!

Not worth a trip report... but snow is still down to the parking lot.  Parked at the HMJ visitor center.  Just skinned and skied from Glacier Vista.   It was hotter than blue blazes.   My big brim hat saved me.

I stopped by at the ranger office at Longmire to offer search assistance for the lost hiker at Eagle Peak... I know that place pretty well.  However they didn't want volunteers because to the liability stuff...  I figured I would be more hinderance than help, so went up to Paradise.   Last I heard they spotted the guy at the bottom of a cliff from a helicopter.

When I was up at MRNP in June the ranger at Paradise just laughed at me when I asked if they were doing extensions on annual passes.

This past Saturday we actually arrived late enough that the booth was opened and sure enough, they extended our passes for 6 months...I guess you have to ask the right person.

Thanks for the tip!

Glad you got through to the right person.

Sadly, I didn't get out last month. I live for winter and sometimes let the summer slip by. However, I need to get back out to Fremont Lookout to see the new 2007 roof after watching last year's roof go up (got blown away in October).
