I am about a 5.7 ski tuner but have found it well worth the time. Plus my wife is grateful when I give her boards some
good lovin'.
I'd start with a used clothes iron from Goodwill or etc., all-around wax, a plastic scraper, p-tex, a very hard stone, and cheap gloves. I have a beveler but am very sparing in its use (heard I can do as much harm as good). I don't have a bench or any vises, just sawhorses and a big slab of cardboard to catch the wax. Scraping has been the part where the most beer gets consumed, but I've been skipping that entirely lately...the scraping, not the hops....
