Alpental NEEDS a snowboard park

But if you still must disagree, how about a killer boulder garden, ala Bear Valley's, installed on lower nash? How hard could it be to helicopter in 50 or so 5 to 10 foot rocks to drop-off on your way back to the lift?
I would settle, though, for just a box or two set up for this upcoming last weekend of the year -- what could it hurt other than a few tailbones?
Heh -- are you bored?
The last thing Alpental needs is more rocks to drop off... Leave the terrain parks to Central, where there's more space to spread out. Please Log in or Create an account to join the conversation.

Hey if its rock drops you want in know one @35' into water in Trash Can, transportation reservations made by ski parol. Jest trying help a hucker outGlad to hear some support for the Muir Snowfield super pipe!
I think the National Parks folks will be down with it too.
And I appreciate your voices of minority dissent, but still must assert that Alpental without a "terrain enhancement" park is like a Playboy centerfold without "terrain enhancement," i.e. not a centerfold but rather the pictorial before or after the centerfold.

Besides, snake dance is a pretty good terrain park. The trail down to Shot Six is kind of like a really steep half pipe with one of the sides made out of rock...

You mean, like the one that's already there, buried under 10 - 15 feet of snow?

Exactly -- maybe they could raise those rocks to create more surface contour in the mid-winter.
Snakedance is like a terrain park already this is true, sort of a natural boarder-cross track. The patrol needs to create a policy wherein entry to snake dance is only permitted to groups of six, and only all at the same time.
That rock wall down to shot six certainly IS quite half-pipe like -- I've jibbed it once or twice on my rock board, and by accident on a good board. Is it too much to ask that said rock wall be smoothed and polished in the off season, and that perhaps the run be made significantly less steep?
I'm still lobbying for a box or two near the bottom of the hill this "triple overtime" weekend. As a pass holder for upwards of half a decade I demand that my needs be consider! Actually if anyone who makes a difference is reading this I meant to say "pretty please" ...

You haven't lived until you've lost some skin on one of these things. Seriously.
