Last i heard, Kautz Creek isn't fixed yet, but they've been hauling rock like mad for the upper road and just started putting the finishing touches on the 706 by where Sunshine Point used to be; none of the park people I know are willing to put out a date (most lower level employees); talked to gator the other day and he's as frustrated as the rest of us he's only skied twice however a LEO friend has been skiing .... let's hope 1 May for the latest and earlier unannounced openings so I can get up there and ski before the rest of you yahoos .... abc

Interesting that Gator isn't saying that....March 13th he said early may for the road to longmire.

I wonder if Mary Bomar's info is newer than Gator's or older...since Gator was saying paradise by May 1st back February.


The opening date has been a moving target since the flood.  I've been tracking this issue and have updated www.mountrainierclimbing.blogspot.com as often as possible...  The new version is May 5th...

cement trucks were pouring into the park today ... I presume their concreting the new culverts at kautz creek ...
