Hi Randy,
Thanks for taking some time to reply.
I would personally like to do the loop route from snow lakes down to Colchuck lake and down Mountaineers creek. It gives an opportunity to ski the last few miles on the road, where we're hoping to catch a lift/taxi back to our car. Does that seem practicable or do you suspect that the Asgard pass and the collioure that we descend could be icy (we would likely hit that this sunday morning)?
Best
David

I haven't been in there since early Feb but Asgard looked pretty thin at that time. Perhaps they have regained some snowpack, or maybe one of the locals has more current info on it. Cascade Climbers occaisionally has trip reports with pictures since there are popular ice and rock routes back there.

I can't say how good the snow and coverage is on Asgard might be right now -- but even under ideal conditions you'll need pretty advanced skill to ski it enjoyably (particularly with an overnight pack). There are sections that are 40+ degrees between the pass and Colchuck Lake. The road is about four miles down Mountaineer Creek and another four down Icicle Creek to return to the Snow Creek trailhead. My guess is that most of the Mountaineer creek road is still skiable -- but I suspect that the Icicle creek road is melted out.
If you are in that area -- also consider heading up Eightmile creek and Cashmere Mtn -- there are some big slopes on Cashmere.
