These Intuition liners have a traditional tongue.
The race I used them at yesterday had very easy downhills, so not much of a test there. But I did some reasonably steep skiing afterwards -- solid expert pitch by eastern standards, with big soft spring moguls -- and they were skiable. Not sure how they'd do on some of those western courses.
In skinning mode, with the instep buckle tight, but the velcro strap loose, almost unimpeded stride.
Overall, I'm quite happy with them now. Definitely *not* going to use them for real ski mountaineering (where I'm quite happy with the TLT Evo), but when it's all about the up, I'm very impressive with their performance:weight ratio.
