below are some disturbing images.
this past weekend the temperature was rather warm in the Wasatch Range, resulting in a number of wet-slab avalanches. for example, at Snowbird half of Mineral Basin was shut down as patrollers attempted to set off wet-slab avalanches on inbound slopes. likewise, at the front of the resort a number of charges were dropped on the south side of Mt. Superior. several slides were triggered. now east of the crest at Park City, a large section of Scott's Bowl, a popular inbound slope, was also triggered by patrollers. this is a slope that has seen continuous traffic throughout the season, but interestingly enough, recent warm temps have made it dangerously unstable. take a look at the photos from 3-18 (Saurer and Tremper):

notice in the first photo by Saurer (Explosive triggered wet slabs in and near PCMR), part of the slope below the Jupiter chair sheared off. in the background is Scott's Bowl. it's amazing what a little warm weather will do...

Those are frightening pictures! I have been looking at the Wasatch thread periodically on teletips and have seen many similar images from backcountry travellers this year. But none with bump lines on the hang-fire!!! Damn.

That is a good collection of photo's. There are some interesting "remotely triggered" ones in there.
