Has anyone cross country skied highway 20 to Rainy Pass? Is this fun, advisable, relatively safe? When do you start crossing avalanche chutes on the way from Mazam to Rainy Pass? When will the route be plowed off in the Spring?
I don't think this would be particularly fun or interesting. It's not groomed. There is considerable avy danger below WA Pass. If the danger is low there will be snomos going back and forth. If you want a long x-c ski on groomed snomo trails, a better choice would be to follow long routes east of the Methow Valley such as Boulder Creek.
