Glen Plake Describes Ski Touring

This is a chunk of an interview with Glen Plake from the Denver Post released 11/7/2006:

SW: I've heard you say that skiing is the best way in the world to waste time. Do you still feel that way, or has it become more of a job?
GP: No, when I'm skiing it's just about blowing off the day. If anything, my ski touring is a way to blow off even more of a day. A super-big waste of time. All you have to do is worry about eating, sleeping and drinking a lot of water. It's awesome.

The rest of the article is worth reading too as GP gets a few jabs in on that company that used to manufacture skis near Seattle, amongst other Plakeish thoughts...

I like when he said "freestyle skiing was fun ,untill we started listening to the judges" The guy is a hoot and loves to ski.
