Maybe this merits a new thread, but here are some great pics of skiing in the southern cone I stubled across.

It looks kind of Sierra like. It looks outstanding. Add the hot springs and it might be Bishop CA (but with fewer folks driving up from LA).

Wow. That looks awesome. There arent too many places where you can get hardwood tree like that right to treeline. It kinda looks like Japan, but bigger.

Is there a trail around that washout? Think a off-road motorbike could get around it?

There is an obvious trail around the length of the washout. It was pretty rough when I hiked it in early 2005. Up and down and very steep in one place. You probably could get a motorbike through but it would be a little tricky. Maybe now the trail is better.
