has anyone dug a pit around baker lately?

I was curious about the depth & type of any major interfaces that might form hoar with this cold snap.

You don't need hoar frost at Baker. The last six inches of wind blown snow is setting on a glass rain-crust from just before the freeze. The layering below the crust seems solid -- and irrelevant. skiing on anything ever 35 degrees is painful right now.

tim, thanks for the info - i should've specified i was thinking of depth hoar, but if its horrid over 35 degrees ah well...
