Schweitzer Backcountry was created by NMaddox
I know this doesn't have to do with the cascades/westside, but does anyone know of good spots to tour off or around Schweitzer? I know dropping off the backside of the resort is operated as a cat skiing area, but is touring through there ok?
Thanks!

My wife and I worked for Schweitzer a few years back and I always spent my days off yo-yo'ing the bowl to the north of Big Blue. This was before the T-bar up Little Blue, so I have no idea of the traffic that might be there now. Just be sure you pick the right drainage back to the chair or else you'll be hiking out to 95! This happened that winter I was there; a couple of kids spent the night trying to find their way out.

Hi-
I live here in Sandpoint, have a pass at Schweitzer and would be happy to take you out of bounds...name the time. PM me with your phone number or email address and we can get in touch...
Also, the area that is cat-accessed is open to BC skiers; Kenny just asks that you try to avoid his groups. That is not hard to do because there is alot of terrain out there.
