Be careful, Larry, it's illegal to ski in Germany or Switzerland without the "Technischer Uberwachungsverein" logo showing plainly!  :D

Can't really say I've had a problem with snow sticking in that location - usually it's between the toepiece and my F1 shim under the toe when I forget to hit it with silicone spray for a while.

Silicone spray does the job for my wife's comforts, at the toe -- I imagine it would help for the heel.

I think the problem has a lot to do with not only snow conditions but with the amount of clearance at the heel. Some skis I use are worse than others in that regard. The fortunate thing is it is less of a problem with the heel stepped up one or two positions. Unfortunately, that doesn't help on low angle terrain.
