Mission Ridge showed two consecutive hours with peak gusts of 117 and 121, sustained winds of 65mph. A good old-fashioned storm. We haven't seen one like this in a while (with snow...not rain).

My favorite weather...

Thanks for the talk last night Gary -- good stuff. We went out and mulled it over at the Old Time...

I'd imagine there'd be 2+ feet of wind deposited snow on sheltered and lee slopes at Mission. Maybe I'll report back after skiing tomorrow.

Crystal had the top of the mountain closed today, and their website says it'll be closed tomorrow.... but the digital forecasts show all quiet on the wind front tomorrow morning. Hopefully they'll reconsider.

I got a call from a buddy yesterday from Johnson's, over in the Chair 3 vicinity.  It was his third day this week skinning Mission and he said while some areas were scoured, there were also huge wind deposits.  He also mentioned that there was no patrol on the mountain doing any snow control, so that probably translates into a late opening today.  We'll be standing in line waiting for those first few chairs this morning...and have the slowshoes & skins ready if they close the lifts down!
