Is summer finally over?? was created by korup
So, telemetry indicates 37 deg F at Paradise, and 25 degrees at Muir, with around 1.3 inches of rain at Paradise  :)
Ballpark numbers would indicate around 10 inches of snow?
But the forecast has the freezing level all over the map, from 5k to 9k. Grrrr. So, what gives?

Next week it will all straighten out. The next few days will just moisten things up a bit. Sort of priming the snow pump. Patience.

It is uncertain whether that much precip was seen at Muir, depending on the quantity and depth of moisture in the atmosphere. Since it seems like the wind gauges at Muir have rimed to a stop, at least it is moist up there.

Is summer finally over?

Not yet:
FOR TONIGHT AND MONDAY THE WETTEST. THE FRONTAL SYSTEM OFFSHORE WILL
DIRECT A CLASSIC PINEAPPLE EXPRESS OF VERY MILD AIR AND OROGRAPHICALLY ENHANCED HEAVY RAINS TO THE REGION FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS STARING 06Z TONIGHT.

But hopefully soon!
A WET BUT MUCH COOLER WEATHER PATTERN WILL SET UP TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK.

That discussion is from the NWS. Seattle's area forecast discussion... updated around 3 am and 3 pm consistently and more often when there is something interesting going on!

Looks even better for the end of next week as of 2:30 today, Sunday:

.LONG TERM...THE MODELS ARE COOL WITH THE NORTHERN STREAM IN CONTROL
AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD SNOWPACK BUILDING PATTERN. THERE IS STILL
A LITTLE TAP OF SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE INTO THE FLOW SO WE MAY SPIN UP
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS AND STILL GET OUR GALES AT FIRST...BUT THE COLD
AIR IN THE NE PACIFIC THEN DOMINATES AND WE SHUD TREND TO BELOW
NORMAL TEMPS. MM
