Topo mapping software was created by Nappingonarock
I've read about a couple packages (Topo! and Topofusion), but I haven't heard much about another package:
Delorme Topo USA 6.0
Does anyone have any experience with this software? After functionality, I'm looking for something that will work with a Mac.

Larry,
Thanks for letting me know the delorme stuff isn't quite up to snuff. I really liked what I saw on the topofusion site, but I don't think they cater to us Apple folk, and I had been slightly concerned with the discussion regarding the inaccuracies of the Topo! program that had come up on this board last spring.
I do like the maps that I have seen produced by the Topo! program, and I guess if my main concern is just using the program to get a visual of the terrain I covered, or am planning on covering Topo! is my ticket. I'm not really as concerned with traverse elevation graphs.
Thanks again, and any additional advice is very much appreciated!

I have used the Delorme program, the Garmin Topo, Nat Geo Topo and a couple others for work- the Delorme program looks nice, pain to work on and the data I have does not align with known points. I've marked a summit and the Delorme will show it at a different point- thought it was my Garmin GPS; but compared to other known site- building and they were wrong too.
For years I always used the Garmin cheap little program to load and unload points and maps. But talking to RonJ over breakfast(s) and seeing how he does it prompted me to purchase WA Nat Geo- the same thing REI uses for maps- it is very user friendly; but gets expensive at $100/ state; but so far worth it.
Oh yeah it is Mac happy.
