Telemark Movie Premier this Saturday 10/14/06

Marmot Mountain Works of Bellevue is sponsoring the Seattle area premier of the new telemark movie “PW06” from Powderwhore 8pm this Saturday 10/14/06 at Nectar Lounge.  This will be one of the only new Telemark specific movies of the year (maybe the only one?).

The Nectar Lounge is located in Fremont at 412 N. 36th ST, Seattle, WA  98103 ( www.nectarlounge.com )(206-632-2020).

$10 at the door gets you in for the movie, raffle, and music afterwards.

Come get yourself psyched up for the upcoming winter season….it’s already snowed at least a couple of times at the higher elevations in the Cascades, and a few folks have already made their first powder turns of the season!

I would also like to mention a couple of other upcoming events:

This year's fundraiser "Snow Bash" put on by the Friends of the Northwest Avalanche Center is scheduled for Friday November 3rd at the Tractor Tavern.

Marmot Mountain Works will also be hard at work on another Telemark/Randonee ski demo for this winter like the highly successful and well attended event last season.  Please keep checking in with us for more information on this!

Nectar told us that they would put it up on their website yesterday afternoon, but apparently they did not do it yet. I will try to call them again tomorrow.

They also said that the reality was that the band would probably not come on until a fair bit after 9pm.

Yesterday evening I went to the Powderwhore's premier in Portland. It was excellent. Although it contained a lot of telemark skiing, it had enough backcountry, AT, and AT-related footage to keep this Dynafitian happy. AT related footage included:
- A nice segment on Bob Athey aka Wizard of the Wasatch skiing and skinning in his F1s.
- AT Apostle reading from his book.
- The PWs on Denalis using Dynafits.
