The photo sharing site Flickr has added geotagging in cooperation with yahoo maps. You can give your photos a location. You can search all users photos on the map of the globe and include tag filters. Filter for the tag skiing and you will see dots on the map of photos with that tag. Zoom into your area on interest and see photos of people skiing on Mt. Rainier, or at Whistler or in the Wasatch. Of course this is dependant on the tagging of the user, but there are some cool photos tagged already. Someone tagged a huge batch of photos they took up at Whistler and there are many more in Utah and Colorado. Not many in Washington yet, but more photos are being tagged every day. . But it is pretty interesting for those who use Flickr. The sat photos are not super high res, but they are pretty good. The really compelling feature is that Flickr has about a million photo uploads a day, so there is a huge amount of information to be harvested.
