OLYMPICS-WEST SLOPES NORTHERN CASCADES AND PASSES-
WEST SLOPES CENTRAL CASCADES AND PASSES-
118 PM PDT TUE AUG 29 2006

...SNOW LEVELS WILL FALL TO NEAR 5000 FEET LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY..

A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA TONIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLD ENOUGH WITH THIS SYSTEM THAT
SNOW LEVELS IN THE MOUNTAINS WILL FALL TO NEAR 5000 FEET.

UP TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW COULD OCCUR ON HIGHER MOUNTAIN RIDGES
LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY ABOVE ABOUT 5000 FEET. IF YOU ARE
PLANNING HIKING OR BACK-PACKING IN THE HIGH COUNTRY OF THE OLYMPICS
OR CASCADES...YOU SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS.

buddy of mine just got off the ptarmigan traverse yesterday...said they got 6" of snow two days ago on the dana glacier.

didn't anyone ski yesterday?
