It would definitely be fun to see you cross the pond with that long board, Jack.
From what I've seen at prior events, it seems like, just like with regular snow travel, there's pros and cons for both the skis and the board at this event.
I thing the main disadvantage of skis is you get a HUGE deluge of icewater right in the crotch (as Allyson laughingly points out)... somewhat as if someone turned a firehose on your crotch. They do seem to fall over in the water a lot with the boards, however.
In either case, it seems like speed is your friend and you cannot carry too much speed approaching the tarn... especially if you are Skip, who skillfully dissipates excess speed in the rocks after exiting the far side of the pond. Eli's pretty good at that, too.

I wish like heck that I could go. My wife has already planned a camping trip with some of her friends for us. The longest snowboard I have is a 188cm which would be fun to attempt the water with. For those going, have fun........

It also depends upon the beverage of choice as a contributing factor of pond surfing distance. From what I've seen at prior events, it seems like, just like with regular snow travel, there's pros and cons for both the skis and the board at this event.

What if Jack L's board was actually one ski. With the speed from those babies, Skip or Eli could circle the tarn. I'm sure Kam and Kelvin have something similar already in production.
Remember the only lifeguards on duty will be laughing too hard to do anything so whatever you do don't fall.
Actually falling is encouraged.
Just don't drown...from injesting too much water due to laughing.
Sag can I borrow your canoe?
