I already asked this once, but my questions is more specific this time... does anyone know whether there is enough snow to ski Silver Peak (the one behind Mt. Catherine), and whether the forest service road that I hear takes you half way up is free of snow. See, I am busy spending 23.5 hours per day studying for this silly bar exam thing and I need a close to seattle, not very time consuming adventure. Finally, does anyone know approximately how many hours this trip takes climbing and skiing, not driving? thanks
Road 9070 just up the hill from my cabin at Hyak was still impassable as of last weekend with 1'-2' deep in sun protected areas, and that is at the 3,000'-3,200' level. There has been significant melt in the past week, but some areas might still be difficult in the Catherine-Silver Peak area.

Plan on doing it myself in the coming week if possible, had some fun last weekend at the base of the PCT in the lakes on our way up to Silver but wasn't up to muleing the snowboard on our backs as it was pretty late.
