May 2006-Aug 2008 MRNP Paradise PARKING ISSUE

One worry I have is that once the new vistor center is completed and the old JVC torn down -- The NPS will no longer have to plow the road to Paradise.

I've heard similar rumors from other places, and REALLY hope that that isn't the case!!

Well this is certainly some GOOD news.  Today's News Tribune's article about the road to Paradise could open as soon as May 1st.

In today's article there was also mention of this:

"In order to help make up for economic losses caused by the park’s closure, the memo said additional services or longer operating seasons will be utilized in some areas. One example: The Sunrise visitor center on the park’s east side will open in June, two weeks earlier than normal".
