Can anyone tell me if it's too late in the season for a ski of Ellinor?

Okay, I'll answer my own question.
I couldn't get any answers, so I thought I might as well do a little recon on my own. I left Gig Harbor at a leasurly 9:30 not being sure if I really wanted to go. Arrived at the trail head two hours later and started to leave the car with my skis still in the trunk (no snow to be seen). I was quickly turned back by a climber coming down saying that the whole chute (what chute?) was filled and that skis would be appropriate. Still thinking that I was just taking my skis for a walk, I headed up the trail to find plenty of snow at about the 4200 level and a bit further, a fabulous chute running about 1200' of vertical.
Conditions would have been spectacular corn skiing, if not for the many boot tracks and a wild glisade track (4' deep in places) taking up too much space in the couple of constrictions that were encountered on the way down.
All in all, a very cool easy access ski and defiantly on the list for next winter.

Sorry nobody could get you good info before you went. Looks like it was worth it, so that's good. Yeah, the 'chute' which is also called the winter route, can be a tricky ski. The glissade gully is usually huge and soon there will be a section without snow that is a small waterfall. I've ascended the chute, but gone down the 'summer route' last few times up there. I would have been up there too, but with all the rain forcasted we went east instead. From the top you go more straight toward the lake, instead of heading left to get to the top of the chute. The summer route is more of an open bowl with good pitch compared to the chute/winter route. Thanks for your recon work!
