I called the ranger station two weeks ago and they kinda laughed at me... It was closed to snow lake (or fish lake? Can't rememberr the name) right off of 2. You might try them again, its a pretty popular area so the ranger's are current on the conditions.
Edit: Levenworth ranger station says its open until chickamin road, still a ways from spider meadows
