Silver Peak Beta

I have heard that there is a forest service road that melts out in the spring and gets you pretty close to Silver Peak (the one at Snoq Pass). Does anyone know about this? If so, which road is it? Thanks

Cold Creek road -- the same road used by the Summit Nordic Center for a trail of the same name.

Find it by taking the road to the lower parking lot at Hyak ski area, but continuing past the lot and driving past the Hyak sewage treatment plant.

Road 9070 I believe. It still has 2'-4' of snow on it and is being illegally used by local snowmobilers who have been tracking all over Catherine and Silver Peak for the past few weeks.

I saw, from the top of Granite, what I think were three snowmobiles cruising around Ollalie Meadow on Thursday night. Now that the resort is closed, is it still illegal?
