BC trip for late april? was created by tomcat
My wife and I have friends coming into town to so a ski/climb for 3 days. Looks like our plans to ski mt adams have been thwarted due to the heavy snows this winter( this is not a bad thing). Does anyone have suggestions for BC skiing or a cool Mt to climb with the intent to ski off. I realize this is a very unpredictable time of year as far as weather. We may opt for a whistler spring trip. We are looking to be out for 3 days of skiing camping and climbing. Ideas???

Sulphide on Shuksan? Shasta (long drive)? Ski back in somewhere off Stevens or Snoq and have your pick of the cornfields?

If you want a big mountain with great views and a reasonable approach, Silver Star or Shuksan are both good options aound now. Check out TRs from this time of year in past seasons (except perhaps last year which was seriously atypical) for other ideas. Being a corn fanatic, I tend to aim for low elevation (e.g. Kendall Stump this past weekend was pretty fun even later in the afternoon, but hardly Washington's most scenic tour for the out-of-towners) or easterly tours where there's a little better odds of finding consolidated snow around now (see Earl and Jolly and Sasse reports from this past week). Have fun showing 'em a good time.
