The lift-served "BC" runs - to Warm Springs and off of Seattle Ridge - are both "illegal" and skiing them frowned upon by patrol and rangers. I've heard of rangers waiting by parked cars on the Warm Springs side to issue pricey tickets. I've skied the Seattle Ridge side several times, usually in the company of locals who park cars in friends' driveways at the bottom so it's less obvious, it's a nice mellow ski but needs to be hit at the right time due to southern exposure.

If you're interested in a spending more than a day in the bc near sun valley, check out Sun Valley Trekking (
www.svtreks.com
). They have a fairly extensive hut system. They're decent pads with a good price and provide a good backcountry experience. I just spent 7 days staying at some of their huts in the Sawtooth Range, ~1.5 hours N of Ketchum (Bench Hut and Fishhook Yurt). I had never been to Idaho before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very impressed. Great mountains and great skiing to be had out there. Full TR w/ pics at splitboard.com:
